The history of our Wolf Howler started in Canada in 1990 when Herb Brusman traveled with the legendary "Wolfer"
Gerd Jost of Calgary, Alberta. Gerd helped us to perfect the howler by taking Herb to areas of high wolf
concentration in Alberta and let the wolves do the teaching.
Each "Wolfer" is handcrafted to perfection and custom tuned to get the deep mellow sounds
needed when conversing with wolves. As with our Coyote Howler, you can achieve all the sounds, barks,
yips, yodels, distress and lonesome howls needed.
Look for our "Herb's Howler" signature on your Howler. Bobbie has been signing them the same way
since 1991 and they are now numbered and recorded on each sales receipt. Many of you who own
one, see your Howler as an heirloom so we keep a record of each unique number with each sale.
Your howler will come complete with a strong leather cord which is attached to the horn and the reed
cover. It makes it easy to carry and helps remind you to always replace the cover to protect the reed when
carrying or storing your howler. (The reed cover should always be removed before trying to blow on the
howler.)
Our "Wolfers" are made from quality hard to find larger horns. The photo on the right compares the size
difference between our coyote howler and the wolfer which is on the top. Larger horns come from older
cows and bulls which, because of battle scars and various encounters, makes them harder to sand but
also makes them thicker allowing for the deeper sounds. We also think the older horns have more
character and beauty because of the age.
With your purchase you will receive the rare booklet New Calling Technique for Coyotes and Wolves
(See below) and the Howling with Herb CD.
